Rich’s passion for preeminence and being with clients is embedded in the culture, connections and competences of Nucleus Advisors—something that happened by design. More than 30 years ago, while sharing a desk on Wall Street with Jordan Waxman, Rich discovered the beginnings of a lasting advisory partnership.
Today, as one of Nucleus’ founders and the senior investment strategist of Nucleus, Richard enjoys strategizing with Alex Bass, Nucleus’ Chief Investment Officer, and overlaying macroeconomic and capital markets perspectives on the qualitative and quantitative work of our investment team. Rich’s direct responsibilities include analyzing and recommending alternative investments.
Richard began his career in 1986 in Goldman Sachs’ Equity Research Department, where he covered healthcare companies and non-bank financial institutions. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Syracuse University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in finance and corporate law.
Rich and his wife, Kathy, reside in New Jersey, and are proud parents of two accomplished sons—one a retired professional ballet dancer, now advocate for artists in need of Fiscal Sponsorship, and the other recently earned a master’s degree in Math from Montana State University. Outside the office, Rich can often be found hiking or skiing in Big Sky, Montana, reflecting a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. His passion for wildlife conservation has led him to serve on the Board of Advisors for WildAid, supporting the organization’s mission to reduce global demand for wildlife products and protect endangered species.
