ALEXANDER BASS

MANAGING DIRECTOR, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER

Alex contributes to Nucleus in several capacities—as Chief Investment Officer and as the lead for the practice’s financial planning work. His depth in investing know how and his passion for developing next generation leaders keeps Alex as energized about working with others to solve complex problems, as he is about guiding clients through financial decision-making.

Alex began his financial advisory career at Merrill Lynch, spending eight years with the Private Banking and Investment Group. He worked closely with clients to design financial plans and implement portfolio strategies. In addition, he conducted investment and portfolio analysis and was responsible for due diligence on third-party money managers, with a particular focus on alternative investments.

A graduate of the University of Rochester with a BA in Economics, Alex holds several professional designations, including Chartered Financial Analyst^®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Alex lives in northern New Jersey with his wife, Sarah, and two young children, who keep them busy in the best way. Weekends take them on adventures, whether it’s hiking the many trails of Harriman State Park or diving into the vibrancy of New York City.
